Believe me, I take no pleasure in painting beige, but as I explained in my color plan, I could not add another color to the mix without things looking out of control.
There were just a few little strips of plastered wall to paint…
with the largest one being in front of the vanity. Yep, that’s all that needed to be painted. I chose a shade to match the existing toilet and shower, appropriately enough named Toasted Almond by Olympic.
I thought it would take an hour or two at most, but I didn’t consider the fact that it was almost all edging. So it took a bit longer.
After I got two coats on the wall, I decided it was a bit too tan for my liking, but this being a budget room, I didn’t really want to go buy another quart of paint. So I mixed some of the Toasted Almond with some warm white semi-gloss paint I already had in approximately equal parts and gave it a third coat. I think it lightened up just enough.
