A family friend is having a baby girl soon, so I made a couple of gifts. One for baby and one for grandma.
The first is a set of 12 onesies, one for each month of the first year. The idea is that you take a photo of the baby in the onesie on their month birthday and at the end of the year, you have a set of photos documenting their growth. I did not come up with this idea myself, but have seen it a lot of places online.
This was my first foray into appliqué, and I decided my sewing skills were not up to the task of outlining all the numbers. Good thing the fusible interfacing I used (Wonder Under) did not require sewing.
As many photos as we took of Elise when she was teeny, we didn’t do anything structured like this. I really wish we had! Maybe we can if/when baby #2 comes along.
The second gift was a decoupaged picture frame. I started with an unfinished wood frame from Michael’s, painted the edges and used Mod Podge to adhere a piece of pretty paper.
As a placeholder behind the glass, I inserted the remainder of the paper I cut out of the middle. An easy and pretty solution!
