I thought I would share some of my recent bargain finds with you from last week’s trip to the clearance aisle at T.J.Maxx. Don’t freak out! I would never use any of these items in my home as they currently appear. But for only 70 cents for each item (yes!), I couldn’t pass them up.
First up, we have a lovely pair of “Desperate House Cats” plaques, measuring approximately 25 x 6 inches each. Seriously, who makes this stuff? Better yet, who buys it for more than 70 cents?
I am not sure what to do with them, but the frames are nice and deep, so they could be open shadowboxes among other things.
Next, we have this 11 x 14-inch “painting” panel of a Schnauzer. Sorry Schnauzer lovers, he will probably get painted over.
The last find will require your powers of visualization. What you’re looking at is a table top, base and the post to hold the two together. It’s little boy sports-themed now, but with a paint job, it could be anything.
p.s. Did you know that T.J.Maxx is known as T.K.Maxx in Europe? Bizzaro.
p.p.s. Do you enjoy posts like this where I share clearance / junk / antique finds? Just curious.

I laugh when I see stuff like this at a huge markdown. And then I keep on walking. But now I will take a second look and see if I can’t find a way to give it a second life. Thanks!

Sue, I’m sure items like this are like three steps away from going in the dumpster, so I do feel like I’m giving them a second chance. And they make for wonderful befores & afters! Also, the price for materials can’t be beat. Cheaper than yard sales, thrift stores, the dollar store.
Tyan, Good! I’m glad someone enjoys this kind of thing because I enjoy sharing the bargains!
