A quick post about a baby quilt I made for a friend way back in JANUARY. I was late gifting it. (If I remember correctly, this was the quilt that required my sewing machine to go in for repairs.) And now I’m even more late blogging about it, but here it is! It’s plain square patchwork, but sometimes simple is best.
I was inspired by that fun geographic fabric. As a symbol of the city, the Gateway Arch is on everything in St. Louis (company logos, posters, commercials, etc.). Really, everything. But it’s not often you see it on fabric sold nationally. When I ran across this at Jo-Ann, I had to grab it. One, because I knew it would be perfect for baby Charlie’s orange and navy quilt. (And two, because that arch just has to make an appearance in the epic scrap quilts I’m planning to make for my girls in the far far distant future.)
One more baby quilt to show you later this week!

Hey Erin,
I just found your blog and realized you live near me, if you live on Lansdowne. I live in the village of Marlborough off Watson Rd. (I promise I’m not a total creeper!), but I’m going to start following your blog. I’m fairly new to the St. Louis area, so it will be nice to follow a blogger who lives here.
